The Community Development Department oversees the review and inspection of development within the city including planning, building inspections and conformance with the zoning code. In addition, the Community Development Department assists the fire department in regular inspections of conformance with safety, health concerns and abatement of dangerous buildings.

The City Of Glendale has adopted the 1997 Uniform Building and Fire Codes. In addition to the standards set forth in these codes, the Building and Fire Departments have made amendments to various sections of the code. These amendments may be obtained from the Building Department or downloaded from this site.
