Water Department E-mail

This department makes sure that everyone in the city receives clean, safe drinking water. We maintain the distribution system, which includes 9 miles of pipes, and 213 meters that service most of the buildings in Glendale, and a few in Denver. On average, we deliver one million gallons of water per day. The average pressure of the water in the system is 80 psi. This department repairs broken water lines, reads water meters for billing, and keeps the pipes and fire hydrants in good condition for a continuous flow of fresh water.

Important Information Concerning Water Quality

The City Of Glendale is pleased to present to you the 2008 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report. This report is designed to inform you about the quality water we deliver to you every day. We purchase our water from Denver Water, which delivers treated surface water to us. We in turn, deliver Denver Water to our customers through our own system of water mains. If you have any questions about this report or concerning your water utility, please contact Glendale Public Works at 303-639-4500. We want our valued customers to be informed about their water quality.

If you would rather have a copy of the flyer mailed to you, please contact Glendale Public Works at 303-639-4500.

Where Our Water Comes From

In January of 1996, we switched from the City's well water system to the Denver water system. Glendale now has a mastermeter contract with Denver Water. What this means is that Glendale receives all its water from Denver, but Glendale bills and collects the fees for water used from the customer. Glendale takes care of all the water mains in the city, we repair or replace them when they break, and we clean them by flushing them out on a periodic basis. If you have any questions concerning our water, you can call Public Works at 303-639-4500, or Denver Water at 303-893-2444.
