Born and raised in rural Kansas, Councilmember King brings to the council a fresh, folksy nature that the citizens feel comfortable with. He has lived in Glendale since 1998 and has a strong desire to participate in developing Glendale as an urban village. He encourages and supports owner-operated businesses.

Having spent time on the City Planning Commission has given Mr. King the experience to serve the City at its highest level. He is well prepared to make the tough decisions that are expected of a City Council member.

Mr. King has volunteered his time in the community by assisting in the Greater Glendale Chamber of Commerce membership drive, helping raise money for the Glendale YMCA and teaching English as a Second Language Class to residents at the Glendale Library. Mr. King serves on the Glendale YMCA Board and the Glendale Fine Arts Committee.
