The Public Works Department keeps the roads in good driving condition. They have 13.3 lane miles needing to be swept, painted, repaired, plowed, and sanded. All streets in the City are paved and lighted. Through Xcel Energy, 356 street lights are maintained. About one-half of our streets are classified as main arteries. Examples of main arteries are:
South Cherry Street
East Mississippi Avenue
East Virginia Avenue
Leetsdale Drive and South Colorado Boulevard are classified as state highways and are maintained by the State of Colorado or the City and County of Denver.
